About: This egg
hunt is for children ages 1 to 8 years old.
What: SeaHunt
Where: Waikiki Aquarium
When: 8:30am to 12pm
About: At the aquarium's Easter celebration you can
hunt for ocean animals in their Sea-Hunting Grounds, cast away at the Fish Pond
for prizes, participate in crafts and activities and visit the Easter bunny and
friends. The Sea-Hunt is for children 2-7 years old but all ages can
participate in the other activities. Parking will be available at Waikiki
Elementary School. Preregistration has closed by they will be registering
more hunters and participants on the morning of the event on a first come,
first served basis.
Cost: $5 for most members, $15 for non-members

Where: Koko Head District Park, 423 Kaumakani Street
in Hawaii Kai
When: Registration begins at 9am, egg hunt is at
10am
About: Sponsored by the Department of Parks and
Recreation and the Koko Head Complex, this event will include an Easter egg
hunt for ages 12 and under and games. All participants receive good bags.

What: 2nd Annual Paliku Arts Festival
Where: Windward
Community College, in and around the grounds of Paliku Theatre, Kaneohe
When: 10am to
6pm
About: There
will be hands-on chance to participate in art, music, literature, movement and
theatre for the entire family.
Attendees are encouraged to come in costume or festive clothing. Professors, instructors and students
will be on hand to help those attending to get involved and participate in art
of various forms. There will also
be art demonstrations to watch, an exhibit in Gallery ‘Iolani and a free
performance of “How I Became a Pirate,” a musical play based on the children’s
book with the same title. (My
family and I saw the play a few months ago at Paliku Theatre so I can
personally and highly recommend that part of the event!)

About: The
Honolulu Theatre for Youth’s production of “Blue” is coming to the
library! This program is
recommended for children ages 3 and older accompanied by an adult. This show introduces the idea of
tolerance and understanding in an age appropriate way through Blue who is happy
in his blue world but then one day color enters his life.

program is suitable for all ages but children must be accompanied by an
adult. Zac Johnson will present a
rabbit petting zoo and introduce participants to several breeds of
rabbits. He will also discuss how
pet waste can be converted into fertilizer using vermicomposting worms.

About: In honor
of the tsunami that hit the big island 66 years ago, the Bishop Museum will
host Tsunami Awareness Day. You
can tour the museum’s galleries which will all be open and you can learn about
the dangers of tsunami and how to prepare for one. The special tsunami-related presentations will include one
by survivors of tsunamis, activity booths on the lawn, Science on a Sphere
programs throughout the day that focus on tsunamis, multimedia kiosk with video
clips of survivors discussing tsunamis and tsunami evacuation zone
information.
Cost: Free
admission to the museum and free participation in all special events.
