October 22 & 23, 2011: Weekend Events

The pumpkin patches at Aloun Farms and Waimanalo Country Farms will be in full swing this weekend and there are a couple other opportunities to participate in fall-themed events this weekend as well.

If you're not into pumpkins or you've already done that this year then maybe you'll want to head to the Aloha Pet Festival, the 2nd Annual Taro Festival or the Season's Best Craft Fair and Gift Expo.

You can also get into the Bishop Museum for free this weekend if you are kama'aina or military and participate in the Kids Fest being held there.

The details for these and other events are on the Weekend Events Page.  As always, if you know of an event I missed please feel free to share it with others in the comments.

Have a great weekend!

One of our awesome blog readers just shared this on the Facebook page. Sounds like a fun and educational event!

We are going to the The 2011 SOEST Open House at UH Manoa! It's the biennial science fair at University of Hawaii at Manoa - it is a wonderful event for family. It is open today (8:30am-2pm) and tomorrow (Oct. 22 Saturday 10am-2pm). Activities include Make-A-Quake, Hawaii Underwater Robot Challenge, Explosive Eruptions, Exploding Volcanoes, Kids Activities, Waikiki Aquarium and much more.
