King Kamehameha Day Lei Draping

Last year I blogged about seeing the Kamehameha Statue draped in leis for King Kamehameha Day.  If you want to see this for yourself now is the time.

The lei draping ceremony will begin this Friday, June 10, at 3:30pm with a prelude concert by the Royal Hawaiian Band.

The ceremony occurs in front of Aliiolani Hale at 417 South King Street, across from the Iolani Palace in downtown Honolulu.    (For Hawaii Five-0 fans, you'll recognize this location as "Five-0 Headquarters.")

If you don't make it to the ceremony, I would recommend at least stopping by sometime to see the leis.

Have a great weekend!
